 Cancun’s
International Airport is the second largest terminal in Mexico and
is serviced by all major airlines. The airport has all the modern
conveniences including duty free shopping, restaurants and waiting
lounges, telephone and ATMs. There are separate terminals for charter
and commercial flights as well as an area for private jets.
Transportation to and from the Airport.
There are no buses allowed into the airport so the only options
are taxis or vans (colectivos). You can buy tickets for the vans
at the 
counter near the baggage claim area. Prices range from $15 to $40,
depending on the destination. Taxis run from $40 to $70. Going to
the airport is cheaper than leaving as taxi rates vary from $10
to $22. Check at your hotel for the most current rates. The airport
is five miles from the actual city and first hotel.
