Cancun has been designed as the ultimate beach resort. American tourists account for 60% of all the visitors and so the city is geared to make them comfortable. English is the unofficial second language and there are many American big name
restaurants, supermarkets and
shops. With its beautiful beaches,
water sports and nightclubs,
cruises, shops and restaurants you may never want to leave Cancun during your vacation.
But this is also a great region for exploration with easy transportation between towns and other places of interest. Day trips to the
Maya Ruins, nearby Islands and Colonial Cities are easily arranged. For nature lovers there are the
ecoparks and wildlife refuges such as Sian Ka’an and Rio Lagartos. Further south are towns along the Riviera Maya such as
Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras where
golf courses, swimming with the
dolphins, deep sea fishing,
snorkeling and scuba diving are easy to find.
